A romantic, dark thriller film, Searching for the Elephant (2009) about three friends who grew up together and then chose to have different futures in their later years, each with their own family. Then, love events destroyed the trust of the group, which led to affairs, unintentional murders, and terrible things from anger that put their lives in danger. Directed by SK Jung.

In Hyeon-woo’s (Jang Hyuk) increasingly deteriorating mentality, he finds himself trapped in a cycle of love for his ex-girlfriend, whose disappearance is a major news story in Seoul. He has a mindset that is stuck in the cycle of smoking marijuana or getting high to relieve stress and forget about the bad memories he had with that woman in the past. In the end, his liberation from lust leads him to meet his childhood friend, Min-seok (Jo Dong-hyuk), a rookie surgeon who is becoming famous in the medical world with a cosmetic clinic. He is a lover of women who want to have plastic surgery or change themselves to be more attractive. He also marries Su-yeon (Lee Min-jung), Hyeon-woo’s beautiful younger sister. He can no longer take care of his younger sister, and her husband is always looking for lovers, no matter when he is working or wherever he is.

As the fun times between the two friends return, Jun-hyeok (Lee Sang-woo) reveals his love to Su-yeon, who wants a new husband who is a shrewd entrepreneur. The two of them have been close since they were children. During that time, Min-seok’s madness and anger led to Jun-hyeok’s accidental death during their argument. The two of them try to cover up the evidence of the death to make it an accident.

Before that, Min-seok found out that his lover Hye-mi (Jang Ja-yeon), who was an actress who was getting a job in a new movie, committed suicide because Min-seok wanted to break up with her and what happened in their story. Min-seok tried to remove the evidence that belonged to him from her room so that it would not be related to her suicide in the shower. Min-seok’s confusion and anger at that time were the reason why he hurt his friend.

As for Hyeon-woo, he is receiving treatment for mental health at a hospital, where he meets Dr. Lee (Ji-hyeong Han), a lovely and talented female doctor who can brighten up Hyeon-woo’s spirits again. Her desires end up in Hyeon-woo’s room. The two of them find freedom in their lives and happy love. But who would have thought that Dr. Lee was actually the same patient who went to receive treatment as Hyeon-woo? That very night, in the truth that he realized, she had disappeared.

In the end, Hyeon-woo decides to leave home and live abroad. Several months pass before he returns to Seoul. He then meets Dr. Lee by chance again. They reunite and find love and happiness together. Watch the full movie online here.
